Understanding Translation Modes

Compare Fast, Standard, and Advanced translation modes to choose the right balance of speed, quality, and credit cost.

Three Modes, One Goal

Translayer offers three translation modes so you can match quality and speed to each project’s needs. Every mode preserves your page layout, typography, and design — the difference is in refinement depth and processing time.

Fast Mode

Best for: Previews, internal reviews, draft translations

  • Quickest processing — typically under 15 seconds per page
  • Single-pass translation with layout reconstruction
  • 1x credit per page
  • Good accuracy for straightforward content like text-heavy documents

Use Fast mode when you need a quick look at how a translation will read, or when you’re translating large batches of simple content where speed matters more than polish.

Standard Mode

Best for: Most production work — books, manga, infographics

  • Balanced speed and quality — around 20-30 seconds per page
  • Multi-pass processing with quality verification
  • 2x credits per page
  • Improved handling of complex layouts, speech bubbles, and embedded text
  • Supports custom prompts for terminology control

Standard is the recommended mode for anything you plan to publish or share externally. It handles manga panels, illustrated books, and multi-column layouts with noticeably better accuracy than Fast.

Advanced Mode

Best for: Print-ready output, premium publications, complex layouts

  • Thorough processing — 30-60 seconds per page
  • Multiple refinement passes with layout verification
  • 3x credits per page
  • Best results for dense technical documents, artistic typography, and small text
  • Full custom prompt support with enhanced instruction following

Choose Advanced when every detail matters — final print runs, client deliverables, or pages with challenging elements like vertical text, onomatopoeia, or intricate diagrams.

Choosing the Right Mode

A practical workflow: start with Fast to preview a few pages, switch to Standard for the full batch, and use Advanced only for pages that need extra attention. This keeps your credit usage efficient while maintaining quality where it counts.
