Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how Translayer collects, uses, and protects your personal information.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information: When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture. We store this to create and manage your account.

Usage Data: We collect information about how you use the Service, including translation history, language preferences, and feature usage for analytics purposes.

Uploaded Content: Book page images you upload for translation. These are temporarily stored for processing only.

2. How We Use Your Information

To provide and improve the translation service
To manage your account and billing
To send important service notifications
To analyze usage patterns and improve the Service
To detect and prevent fraud or abuse

3. Data Processing

Uploaded images are processed by our AI translation infrastructure. Processing providers handle data according to their API policies. We do not store translations on third-party servers beyond the processing period.

4. Data Retention

Uploaded files: Removed after processing
Translated files: Available for 7-90 days depending on your plan
Account data: Retained while your account is active
Usage logs: Retained for 12 months for analytics

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties except:

AI processing providers: For translation processing only
Firebase: For authentication and database services
Legal requirements: If required by law or legal process

6. Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are in the EU/EEA, you have the right to:

Access your personal data
Rectify inaccurate data
Request deletion of your data
Export your data (data portability)
Object to processing
Withdraw consent at any time

7. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS), encryption at rest, access controls, and regular security audits. However, no system is 100% secure.

The Service is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
